The Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition has had the opportunity to attend a few different CADCA Training sessions. In 2016 the coalition director, event coordinator, another coalition member, and 8 youth coalition members attended the CADCA National Leadership Forum in Washington DC. In 2017, the event coordinator, two coalition members, and eight youth coalition members attended CADCA's MidYear Training in Atlanta, GA. In 2018, the event coordinator, two coalition members, and eleven youth coalition members attended CADCA's MidYear Training again, but this time in Orlando, FL.

The SADD Club has 4 students attend the TN Strong Conference in Chattanooga, TN, June 3-5th. Red Ribbon Week is the last week in October dedicated to increase awareness of drug use and abuse, and educate youth about the harms of drugs. Clay County Health and Safety Day is held each year in Celina. Partnering with local police, Cumberland River Hospital, and other health organizations to provide information, displays, simulators, and training to youth and community members. The event has become a "back to school" activity where school supplies are given to participating youth also. In 2015, the Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition started an annual Together We Rise Awareness Walk to raise awareness of substance abuse in our community, and show support for those struggling with substance abuse. The event started with around 30 people, and has grown to have over 100 participants at the walk. Our SADD Club students also get involved by working at the water stations, and whatever else is needed for the event. Tennessee Teen Institute is a week long prevention camp held every year for youth of Tennessee each summer. |
