SADD National Conference 2019 - June 23rd-28th!!!!! Club Sign Up Day: Aug. 9th!!! SADD Club Members don't forget to sign-up!!! 2018 Health and Safety Day is July 28th from 9-noon!!! CADCA Midyear is July 15-20th!!!! Getting excited!!! TTI is fast approaching June 17-23rd! Four of our youth attended TN Strong Conference in Chattanooga June 3-5th! 4th Annual Together We Rise Awareness Walk is June 1st! Congratulations to Alyssa Colson, Tessa Peidgo, and Shea Spears, which were our 2018 Leadership Award and Scholarship recipients! TN Trucker's Association came and spoke with the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades at CCHS on May 1st! Kick Butts Day is coming up in April! 6 SADD Club Students attended SADD Day on the Hill and met with Senator Pody and Representative Kiesling to discuss what our coalition and SADD Club does in Clay County on March 13th! Our SADD Club had the opportunity to go teach the after-school students at Celina K8 about driving/riding safety, Being More Kind, and tobacco harms! Great job SADD Club kids! Six SADD Club students had a great time attending the SADD Leadership Retreat Feb. 9th-11th! Jan. 8th or 25th! THINKFAST game came to CCHS to teach about driving safety and underage alcohol laws on Oct. 26th! The Jr High students from Celina K8 and Hermitage Springs Schools were also able to attend and participate! Three of our SADD Club Students have been invited to attend the Regional Health Coordinators Meeting to present about their experiences with the TN Strong Conference and underage tobacco prevention. Health and Safety Day is coming up on July 23rd!!! Together We Rise Awareness glow walk/run was a great success!!!! Around 115 people attended the event!!! Congratulations to Brittany Bohn on receiving the Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition and SADD Club Leadership Award and Scholarship! March into Kindness with our CCHS SADD Club was a great success! T4 activities like "Chalk the Walk", "Honk if you hate tobacco", and cigarette butt pick-up have been going on at CCHS!!! CCADC's SADD Club recently took a trip to Washington, D.C. for CADCA's National Leadership Forum! Videos and photos coming soon! Five of our students from our SADD club attended a T4 training in Cookeville on Saturday, Feb. 6th. T4 stands for Tennessee Teens Talk Tobacco! CCHS SADD Club will have our Christmas Party on Dec. 17th, at 3:00!!! Great American Smoke Out poster contest winners were awarded prizes at Hermitage Springs and Celina K8 Schools. Congrats to: Erin Meadows, 3rd Grade Abby Head, 5th Grade Lexi Head, 5th Grade Katie Key, 5th Grade Michelle Vela Hernandez, 7th Grade Griffin McClain, 7th Grade The Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition strives to encourage the youth of our community to think critically about personal choices, future ambitions and emerging community health and wellness trends related to underage substance abuse and alcohol use.
