CCHS SADD
On Sept. 26th from 4-7 pm at the recreation complex near the ball fields and horse arena in Celina, the Clay County Anti-Drug Coalition teamed up with Clay County Sheriff and Celina Police Departments along with local emergency and medical personnel to provide a community Health and Safety Fair. It was fun for all ages including: K9 demos, seat belt simulator, Boating Under the Influence Simulator, Child ID kits, drug information trailers from the Tennessee Counter Drug task force, Driving Under the Influence golf cart course, inflatable bounce house and obstacle course, free food and drinks, music and door prizes. The event was open to all community members of any age. Also, some people had brought unused or expired medication for safe disposal! Children also had the opportunity to sign and paint their hands to pledge to be drug free, bully free, and live safer lives. Together we can build stronger, safer communities in Clay County for us all! -Brittany Bohn

Our CCHS SADD club was lucky enough to have gotten a picture with Blake McMeans when he came to our school. He told us his first hand story about drunk driving; not only did it change his life but it changed the lives of other people. He told us about how your actions have consequences and to never drink underage. It isn't just illegal, it's bad for you. Every time I hear his story I can't help but to cry. Blake McMeans is one of the best presenters I have heard.
- Brittany Bohn The SADD club had a booth set up at Celina's Moonshine Daze Festival where we shared the harmful affects of drugs and alcohol. We had several displays set up and pamphlets available. We also teamed up with the sheriffs office and set up the Moonshiner's Jail where we jailed anybody for $1.00. All the profits that were made goes to the Clay County children's Christmas.
